About

Hi, I’m Rose! I’ve been the proud owner of The Yarn Shop at Alma Park and Alma Park Alpacas for over 20 years. I studied Chemical Engineering and Economics in college, and spent more than two decades in the IT industry. In 2008, I left that world behind to focus on my true passions: animals and yarn.

In 2023, I began experiencing health issues, and by February 2024, I made the difficult decision to close the store to in-person shopping and shift back to online-only sales. While I’m still creating yarn, spinning, knitting, and sewing, I now have the opportunity to explore other activities that bring me joy—and I’m excited to share those with you.

I decided to re-launch this blog, as writing and sharing stories is cathartic for me. I will still be posting knitting and spinning ideas, but I also will be sharing a lot more. There is much more to my life than what people saw at The Yarn Shop. To see what I have planned, read this re-launch post — here .

I may earn affiliate commissions from some of the links on this blog. While all content is my own, I occasionally use AI to improve the flow of my writing and include some AI-generated images.
